Former LVMH Fashion Group executive vice president to take over as Sephora chairman and chief executive on January 1, reports WWD. Motte succeeds Chris de LaPuente, who took over in June following the departure of Martin Brok. Brok left after just two years leading the LVMH-owned cosmetics retail company. Prior to assuming a position at LVMH Fashion Group, Motte served as president of Sephora Europe and the Middle East.
Motte’s appointment comes as Sephora re-enters the UK market. Sephora acquired British beauty e-garment company Feelunique in July 2021 and started moving its website to Sephora UK in October. The retailer is set to open a store in London in March. year 2023.
